Commercial Director * Manager (Medical Devices) Cambridgeshire
To develop and lead business in the field of design and development of products and systems for industrial and consumer applications.
Design and development of products and systems for automotive, transport, defence, electronics, industrial and consumer applications. The business unit has leading-edge capabilities in integrated electronics, electromechanical systems, imaging and tracking technology, product design and distributed*mobile software.
· To identify target companies and match them with appropriate technical offerings
· To initiate contact, make pre-sales visits and identify prospective business
· To build sales propositions and develop them into commercial relationships with clients
· To lead the bid teams working alongside a project manager and*or technical authority
· To mentor the senior technical members of the Business Unit team delegating the line management of the team to them
· To close sales negotiating terms and conditions
· To be part of the project delivery team, remaining ultimately responsible for the client relationship and commercial success of the programme
· To develop strategies to build the business: marketing, skills and IP
Experience and track record within a potential target industry - for example: consumer products, energy conversion, safety, security, and environmental systems
· Experience of mechanical or electronic projects and processes · Experience of high value, technical sales market knowledge of existing technologies · Experience of high value, technical sales market · Knowledge of existing technologies · Degree in an appropriate science or engineering subject
